The center console has been redesigned and the dashboard has two large round air vents on either end. What's new for 2025?
The 2025 Equinox has an updated exterior design that include includes fender flares, all-LED lighting, squared-off wheel wells and a fascia treatment that differs with each trim level. The new Equinox is wider than last year's model by 2.3 inches and there's a new 11.3-inch infotainment screen as well as a large digital gauge cluster. The gear shift is now mounted on the steering column and there's a drive mode selector knob on RS and Active trim that gives you the choice of Normal, Snow and Off-Road modes.
The engine and performance
The 2025 Chevy Equinox is powered exclusively by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that can produce 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque when it's equipped with all-wheel drive. Front-wheel drive models generate 184 pound-feet of torque and are connected to a continuously variable automatic transmission With all-wheel drive, you'll be operating with an eight-speed automatic and your time to 60 mph will be about 8.0 seconds.


Interior highlights
One reason for the popularity of the Chevy Equinox is that the interior has plenty of space for passengers as well as a generous amount of cargo room. The interior styling is modern with a good balance of physical and digital controls. Cloth upholstery comes standard and faux leather is an optional upgrade. The top-tier Active trim offers a mix of vinyl with microfiber and in all models, the shift lever is mounted on the steering column, giving you more storage space in the center console. The new 2025 Chevy Equinox has 29.8 cubic feet behind the back seat and 63.5 cubic feet with the rear seat folded down.
Technology
For 2025, the Equinox gives you a large 11.3-inch infotainment screen that's a significant upgrade from the 7.0-inch and 8.0-inch displays in last year's models. Google technology is built in and the system will offer Google maps navigation and access to a Wi-Fi hotspot. The new Equinox will also have a much bigger 11.0-inch digital instrument cluster positioned in front of the driver, and it can be reconfigured in a variety of ways to suit your preferences.


Highlights of the new Equinox Activ trim
For the first time, the Equinox offers an Activ trim that's designed to give you a more rugged option. It comes with all-terrain tires that can allow you to hit the trails and it also has 17-inch aluminum wheels, a Maple Sugar and Black interior color scheme and Activ interior embroidery. In addition, the Activ model helps keep you warm in winter with standard heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
Safety features
Standard safety features in the new 2025 Chevy Equinox include a following distance indicator, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic braking.
